Train Action Chapter of Freedom Struggle

It was wrong to call the Kakori national incident a robbery. This word was given by the British.

This continued even after independence. During British slavery, the government treasury in Kakori was not mere possession. Rather it was also a warning to the British power. The revolutionaries wanted to directly challenge the British power by capturing the state treasury. He believed that Indians have the right over this treasure, not foreigners. Because it has been collected from the taxes and rents paid by Indians.

The Yogi government has changed the name of Kakori incident to Kakori Train Action. The government believes that the word ‘Kand’ refers to the sense of humiliation of the incident as part of India’s freedom struggle. For this reason its name has been changed. The revolutionaries of Kakori knew that after this the British power would not allow them to survive. Still, he wanted to make the country aware through this. Apart from this, money was also needed for the struggle against the British. For this Ram Prasad Bismil had planned to rob the British government’s treasury. On 9 August 1925, Rajendranath Lahiri stopped the passenger train leaving Kakori railway station in Lucknow district by pulling the chain.

Under the leadership of Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ulla Khan, with the help of Pandit Chandrashekhar Azad and other associates, took possession of the treasury. The British government had prosecuted forty revolutionaries of the Hindustan Republican Association. In which Rajendranath Lahiri, Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ulla Khan and Thakur Roshan Singh were sentenced to death. In this case, sixteen other revolutionaries were given punishment ranging from a minimum of four years’ imprisonment to a maximum of black water. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gives the message of awakening national self-respect from the brave stories of Indian history. He says that one should always take inspiration from the sacrifices of great fighters for freedom from foreign slavery. He considered the national interest supreme. He sacrificed his life to liberate Mother India. In order to make the present generation aware of such incidents, Yogi Adityanath had organized the centenary celebrations of the Chauri Chaura incident.

Many such facts came to light from this event, which did not get proper place in history. The farmers living around Chauri Chaura were agitating against the British rule. Following the incident, farmers were harassed on a large scale. Madan Mohan Malviya fought the case for the defense of the accused. Yogi Adityanath had organized the centenary celebrations of the Chauri Char incident with dignity in the entire state. Efforts were also made to connect youth and students with this. Similarly, Yogi Adityanath has been giving importance to organize the Kakori incident with dignity. This time also he had already directed the officers in view of this. He had said that on August 9, programs should be organized at the martyr’s memorials in view of the August Kranti and Kakori incident. Patriotic programs should be organized including band playing of police and security forces. Families of martyrs should be honored.

According to his instructions, events were organized in the state. Governor Anandiben Patel and Yogi Adityanath visited Kakori and paid tribute to the martyrs. Special programs were organized on this occasion in Kakori. During this, other programs including storytelling, tricolor yatra, film exhibition were held. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor Anandiben Patel and many other guests attended. Anandiben Patel and Yogi Adityanath paid homage to the brave martyrs at Kakori Shaheed Memorial Lucknow on the occasion of the anniversary of Kakori Action Train in a series of Azadi Amrit Mahotsav and Chauri Chaura Shatabdi Mahotsav. On this occasion, the families of the martyrs of freedom struggle were honored and visited the mural exhibition, a picture exhibition based on the freedom struggle. On this occasion, Anandiben Patel said that it is a matter of pride for me to be a witness to this historical event. I had read this incident of freedom struggle while studying in childhood. Such revolutionary events should be taught in schools. Who does not lose the feeling of patriotism.

Keeping this in mind, the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi is being celebrated under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath. We all should work for the development of the country by rising above caste and religion. One should take a pledge to work for the country. One should not think about what the country has given to us. Rather think about what we have done for the country. If we point one finger at someone, then three fingers also point towards us. Yogi Adityanath said that this nectar festival of freedom is inspiring everyone. Inauguration from Chauri Chaura and this year-long Amrit Mahotsav, we salute the immortal fighters who were martyred in the freedom movement. The Amrit Festival of Independence is a festival of new ideas, resolutions and self-reliance. Today this event at Kakori Martyrs Memorial is dedicated to freedom fighters, revolutionaries and soldiers. By whose sacrifice the freedom of the country and our borders are protected. The country never bowed before the British rule. The first freedom struggle shook the foundation of the British. All the incidents of revolutionaries are a reminder that we should unite, rise above caste religion and join the nation religion and make the dream of a self-reliant India come true.
