World Rivers Day Seminar

Hamidia Girls’ Degree College has organized a student seminar on the occasion of World Rivers day on 26th September 2022 (Monday) in the department of geography. Students have actively participated in this seminar.

Dr Aamna Farooqi, Associate Professor, Hamidia Gilrs Degree College, has introduced to the students about the importance of a river and how the rivers are beneficial for human and economic life. It has also a great importance to our ecosystem.

The main objectives of the seminar was explained by Dr Shabnam Ara, Assistant Professor at department of geography, Hamidia Girls Degree College. It has also explained to the students why this day is celebrated and when it was Started. Almost every country around the world has at least one river flowing through it so to ensure the importance of water bodies, water is celebrated and appreciated as it should be. World River Day aims to remind people about how important waterways are around the globe for us.

The first world river day was celebrated in 2005 and since then it has been gaining its popularity. It was started by Mark Angelo and international river advocate. Therefore, World river day Is all about celebrating the waterways of the world and highlighting the importance of rivers. To heighten awareness and encourage people to preserve our important and beautiful river. There are a number of different things that can help in order to protect our river like using biodegradable cleaning products, educating people, Turning your tap off while you are brushing your teeth, timing your shower, litter clean, beach litter pick, Clean up of creeks section etc. Making Change like this can make a massive difference. There are lots of human activities that are polluting our rivers and waterways. That’s why it has become necessary to preserve our water bodies which is an important element for life .

विश्व नदी दिवस पर समाचार संगोष्ठी

हमीदिया गर्ल्स डिग्री कॉलेज ने 26 सितंबर 2022 (सोमवार) को विश्व नदी दिवस के अवसर पर भूगोल विभाग में छात्र संगोष्ठी का आयोजन किया है। इस संगोष्ठी में विद्यार्थियों ने बढ़-चढ़कर भाग लिया।

हमीदिया गिलर्स डिग्री कॉलेज की एसोसिएट प्रोफेसर डॉ आमना फारूकी ने छात्रों को नदी के महत्व और नदियां मानव और आर्थिक जीवन के लिए कैसे फायदेमंद हैं, इसके बारे में बताया। हमारे पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र के लिए भी इसका बहुत महत्व है। संगोष्ठी का मुख्य उद्देश्य हमीदिया गर्ल्स डिग्री कॉलेज के भूगोल विभाग में सहायक प्रोफेसर डॉ शबनम आरा ने बताया। इसमें छात्रों को यह भी बताया गया है कि यह दिन क्यों मनाया जाता है और इसकी शुरुआत कब की गई थी। दुनिया भर में लगभग हर देश में कम से कम एक नदी बहती है, इसलिए जल निकायों के महत्व को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए, पानी दिवस मनाया जाता है और इसकी सराहना की जानी चाहिए।

विश्व नदी दिवस का उद्देश्य लोगों को यह याद दिलाना है कि दुनिया भर में जलमार्ग हमारे लिए कितने महत्वपूर्ण हैं। पहला विश्व नदी दिवस 2005 में मनाया गया था और तब से यह अपनी लोकप्रियता हासिल कर रहा है। इसकी शुरुआत मार्क एंजेलो और इंटरनेशनल रिवर एडवोकेट ने की थी। इसलिए, विश्व नदी दिवस दुनिया के जलमार्गों को मनाने और नदियों के महत्व पर प्रकाश डालने के बारे में है। जागरूकता बढ़ाने और लोगों को हमारी महत्वपूर्ण और खूबसूरत नदी को संरक्षित करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करना।

कई अलग-अलग चीजें हैं जो हमारी नदी की रक्षा करने में मदद कर सकती हैं जैसे बायोडिग्रेडेबल सफाई उत्पादों का उपयोग करना, लोगों को शिक्षित करना, अपने दांतों को ब्रश करते समय अपना नल बंद करना, अपने स्नान का समय, कूड़े को साफ करना, समुद्र तट पर कूड़े को उठाना, सफाई करना क्रीक सेक्शन आदि। इस तरह से बदलाव करना बहुत बड़ा बदलाव ला सकता है। बहुत सारी मानवीय गतिविधियाँ हैं जो हमारी नदियों और जलमार्गों को प्रदूषित कर रही हैं। इसलिए हमारे जल निकायों को संरक्षित करना आवश्यक हो गया है जो जीवन के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण तत्व है।
