ISTD Allahabad Chapter organised it’s monthly general meeting today 11th February at Temptation Restaurant. Mr Ravi Prakash Secretary welcomed all the honourable members and introduced the guest speaker of the day -CA Dr.Navin Chandra Agarwal.

The topic of the talk session was New Direct Taxes as announced in the Union Budget 2023. In his address Dr Agarwal deliberated in depth about the new and old tax regimes. He also cleared doubts about who should go for the new and who can opt for the old tax regime. The government wants the citizens to concentrate more on spending so that consumption increases,which has a direct effect on economy of the country.

In the new announcements life insurance premiums more that five lakhs cumulative will now be taxable.The changes in capital gain amounts , housing loans , surcharge and standard deduction were also highlighted. The informative talk session was appreciated by the members. It was followed by a question and answer session.

Mr Shalabh Kumar Treasurer distributed new year calendar and diary to the members. The president Prof Arun Kumar presented a memento to Dr Agarwal.The programme appealed to those present with a request to organise more such events in future.
