Two-Day International Seminar on India-Central Asia Relationship in New Delhi

India Central Asia Foundation organised international conference on “India Central Asia :Connectivity, Security, and Sustainable Partnership in a Multipolar World” in India International Centre in New Delhi on 25 th March, 2026. The two day conference was supported by Ministry of External Affairs, MERI Group of Institutions and Shobhit University.

The conference was inaugurated by Mr Kanwal Sibal, former Foreign Secretary and Chancellor, Jawaharlal University. Shri Mayank Singh, Joint Secretary , Ministry of External Affairs and Ms Aparna , Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs were Guests of Honour.

Two Books – ” India-Kazakhstan Partnership in a Changing Geo-Political Order ” written by Prof Ramakant Dwivedi , Lalit Aggarwal and Kuralay Baizakova was released. Another book” Kirhiz Vir Gatha Kavya Nanas ” in Hindi and ” India and Central , East and Southeast Asia :Enhancing the Partnership” authored by Prof
Rama Kant Dwivedi and Mr Lalit Aggarwal were also launched.

Prof Ramakant Dwivedi, Director, ICAF and Head , MERI Crntre for International Studies, New Delhi informed that six academic sessions on different aspects of India-,Central Asia , covering geopolitical flux in Multipolar World, Role of Regional Institutions,
Connectivity and
Infrastructure, Economic Cooperation , Historical and Cultural Ties will showcase the theme from various angles.

Ambassador Gitesh Sharma, Vice President , ICAF said that historical and civilizational link of India with Central Asian countries ( Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) is since the 3rd century BC. These countries have been trading partners in the past through well-known trading routes and travel of Buddhism which need to be further augmented for the economic and multilateral development.

So many academic scholars, domain experts, diplomats, research organisations, scholars and university students participated in the above international conference.

नई दिल्ली में भारत-मध्य एशिया संबंधों पर दो दिवसीय अंतरराष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी शुरू

इंडिया सेंट्रल एशिया फाउंडेशन (आईसीएएफ) ने मंगलवार को यहां इंडिया इंटरनेशनल सेंटर में “भारत-मध्य एशिया: बहुध्रुवीय विश्व में कनेक्टिविटी, सुरक्षा और सतत साझेदारी” विषय पर दो दिवसीय अंतरराष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी का आयोजन किया।
इस सम्मेलन को विदेश मंत्रालय (एमईए), MERI समूह संस्थान और शोभित विश्वविद्यालय का समर्थन प्राप्त है।
पूर्व विदेश सचिव और जवाहरलाल नेहरू विश्वविद्यालय के कुलाधिपति कंवल सिब्बल ने संगोष्ठी का उद्घाटन किया। विदेश मंत्रालय के संयुक्त सचिव मयंक सिंह और अपर्णा विशिष्ट अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित रहे।

इस अवसर पर “India-Kazakhstan Partnership in a Changing Geo-Political Order” पुस्तक का विमोचन किया गया, जिसे प्रो. रामाकांत द्विवेदी, ललित अग्रवाल और कुरलाय बाइजाकोवा ने लिखा है। इसके अलावा “किर्गिज वीर गाथा काव्य मानस” (हिंदी संस्करण) तथा “India and Central, East and Southeast Asia: Enhancing the Partnership” शीर्षक पुस्तक का भी लोकार्पण किया गया, जिनका लेखन प्रो. रामाकांत द्विवेदी और ललित अग्रवाल ने किया है।

आईसीएएफ के निदेशक और MERI सेंटर फॉर इंटरनेशनल स्टडीज के प्रमुख प्रो. रामाकांत द्विवेदी ने बताया कि संगोष्ठी में छह अकादमिक सत्र आयोजित किए जाएंगे, जिनमें बहुध्रुवीय विश्व में भू-राजनीतिक बदलाव, क्षेत्रीय संस्थाओं की भूमिका, कनेक्टिविटी और अवसंरचना, आर्थिक सहयोग तथा भारत और मध्य एशिया के ऐतिहासिक एवं सांस्कृतिक संबंधों जैसे विषयों पर चर्चा होगी।

आईसीएएफ के उपाध्यक्ष राजदूत गितेश शर्मा ने कहा कि भारत और मध्य एशियाई देशों—कजाखस्तान, किर्गिस्तान, ताजिकिस्तान, तुर्कमेनिस्तान और उज़्बेकिस्तान—के बीच सभ्यतागत संबंध तीसरी शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व से रहे हैं। इन देशों के साथ प्राचीन व्यापार मार्गों और बौद्ध धर्म के प्रसार के माध्यम से गहरे संबंध स्थापित रहे हैं, जिन्हें आगे और सशक्त करने की आवश्यकता है।

इस अंतरराष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी में बड़ी संख्या में शिक्षाविद, विषय विशेषज्ञ, राजनयिक, शोध संस्थानों के प्रतिनिधि और विश्वविद्यालयों के छात्र भाग ले रहे हैं।
